New Toy

Remember when you were a kid and you got a new toy to play with even though it wasn't your birthday or Christmas?  It didn't happen very often for me growing up, but when it did it seemed EXTRA special!  Well, that's how I feel every time I get a package in the mail.

This week I got an EXTRA EXTRA special package.  I still can't believe it is finally here, and it's nowhere near my birthday.  My sewing machine broke a year ago and I have been shopping for a new one.  No, I didn't get the $8000 one I was drooling over when I first started looking.  I'm not a good enough seamstress to justify that.  Here is what I ended up getting.

Isn't she pretty?   She still needs a name.  Any suggestions?

I took her out of the box yesterday, while the boys and their friends were upstairs playing.  Right away I knew I actually NEEDed read the manual.   She is a complicated thing, but she can thread her own needle, cut her own thread, raise and lower her needle as well as stitch by just pushing a button.  Of course that means "I" need to figure out which button to push.... this could take awhile.

Here's my reading material.  Thankfully there are pictures to go along with the words because I am a visual learner.

So, can you guess what I will be doing today?  That's right, going to a carshow with my husband and possibly a quick trip to the ocean after that.  What, that's not what you guessed?  :)  Hopefully I'll get to spend some time with her when we get back, but I won't have a card for you today.  Sorry.  I do have a video uploading right now, so you have a new video to watch soon.

Hope you find some time today to get a little creative.  I'll be dreaming about my sewing projects and enjoying the day with my hubby.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

Oooh, I have a similar model and it's a PEACH. But I haven't named mine either! Yours looks a bit like a Poppy to me.

Congratulations on your new sewing machine, she is a beauty! I hope you have lots and lots of creative fun with your new toy! And I agree with Bexx, Poppy would be the perfect name for her, trendy and cute!
