Winter Scene from Winterhaven

The newest Stamp of Approval release, Winterhaven, has sold out.  For now we wait until the individual pieces are released into the store.  (sometime in 2018)  Before I put the collection away I wanted to share 2 more cards I made to create a little winter scene.  I try not to show to many cards with products you can't purchase, but since so many of my followers have this collection, I thought you might enjoy a little more inspiration using it.

For each of these cards I die cut masking paper from the curvy hill in the winterhaven die set.  I then sponged a little bit of blue up from the mask to create little snowbanks.

I hope you are enjoying your Winterhaven collection.

Stamps:  Here We Come A-Caroling (Catherine Pooler Designs)

CAS 06 Water Lilies

Each month the Encouragement Squad hosts an encouragement challenge on the Calling All Sistahs blog.  And, each month I am blown away by the inspiration photo Michele chooses and the design team's incredible work.  I have to admit though, this one just might be my favorite.  It is so soft and feminine and pretty, plus the pink colors are perfect for breast cancer awareness month.

Here is how I interpreted the photo.  You can use the photo or the colors or both for your inspiration to make a card of encouragement.  I took the 3 candles and the flower and morphed them into 3 water lilies on my card.  I also added a water background with some aqua markers to mimic the water in the bowl.  Obviously I strayed a bit from the original color palette, but that's ok.  I am in LOVE with this card.  It fits my style. The embossing powder has a touch of rose glitter to it that is so pretty in person.

Stamps: Mon Ami (CASual Fridays Stamps)
Ink: 200, 230 (Zig Clean Color Real Brush) Landscape Aqua Markers (Spectrum Noir) Versamark
Paper: Distress Watercolor (Tim Holtz) Bristol Cardstock (Ellen Hutson)
Accessories: Fools Gold Embossing Powder (WOW) Mon Ami Fleur Fri-Dies (CASual Fridays Stamps)

Be sure to head on over the Calling All Sistahs blog to see the incredible cards from the rest of the Encouragement Squad and then make your own card to be added to the challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the CASual Fridays Stamps store.  Don't forget to use your coupon code if you plan on doing some shopping.  ;)  If you are like me, every little bit you save helps you add a little bit more to your cart.

Winterhaven Stamp of Approval Blog Hop Day 3

It's almost time for the newest Stamp of Approval collection to be released, so you will want to get on the waitlist NOW if you are not already on it.  cpstampofapproval.com  This collection goes beyond the traditional Christmas collection and encompasses the entire season from Christmas, to celebrations, gift tags, thank you and more!  If you aren't familiar with Stamp Of Approval, it is an exclusive collection of stamping products curated by Catherine Pooler.  She puts these collections together in a limited supply for a limited time.  Once they sell out, they are not released for sale until months later and never again in a complete collection at this great price!

Both of my cards today are a take on the traditional Reds & Greens of Christmas.  First up is my Party Dress pink card using the new background stamp along with the Joy Wreath die.  It is so pretty die cut out of glimmer paper, that the card really doesn't need much more.

Stamps: Here We Come A-Caroling, Ornamental Background (SOA Winterhaven)
Ink: Party Dress (Catherine Pooler Designs) Versamak
Paper: Champagne Glimmer Paper (Stampin' Up) Midnight, Premium White (Catherine Pooler Designs)
Accessories: Joy Wreath Die (SOA Winterhaven) White Embossing Powder (WOW)

To create both cards I first stamped in Versamark using the Ornamental Background stamp, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Next I sponged on my color started at the bottom of the card and getting lighter as I moved up.  The difference comes in the colors of ink and the embellishments/sentiments to finish off each card.

My second card is a play on the traditional green using Aqua inks instead.  To jazz up the Joy sentiment I first die cut in white, then sponged on color on the bottom 2/3 of the word.  Next I covered the entire thing in Versamark ink and sprinkled Wanderlust embossing powder over it, heat setting it to bring out the sparkle and shine.  The little sentiment strip was part of a larger sentiment that I masked off, inked in versamark and heat set white embossing powder.   Then I sponged my lightest color over the strip and my darkest just around the edges.

Stamps: Here We Come A-Caroling, Ornamental Background (SOA Winterhaven)
