Bullet Journal Planner for August

Last week I picked up something just to share with you guys in my August planner video.  Have you noticed your local stores putting up back to school supplies?  We have, and while it makes my son break out in a cold sweat thinking about school starting up again, it has me bouncing down the aisles.  No, I'm not ready for him to go back to school just yet, but I LOVE all things paper and ink.  It's like Christmas for me shopping all those colorful binders, notebooks, pens and storage.  Admittedly I am weird, but it is true.  See what it is in my August bullet journal planner video.

Here is a comparison of the graph composition book I picked up at Target and the B5 Leuchtturm1917 I'm currently using for my planner.  As you can see the composition book on the left is a much brighter white with solid squares.  The Leuchtturm on the right has a dot grid that is hard to see in this picture.

When I was searching on Amazon for the graph composition book I found one with dots!

Giving this project its own page helped me so much!  I will be doing this again with the next SOA release.

Paying bills and taking care of insurance stuff is never fun, but a colorful layout does make me want to look at these pages a little more.

My weekly & daily layout for August.  I used the same washi tape as I did on my monthly calendar.

It's going to be another busy month with family visiting, kids working, and school + sports starting up again.  I'm glad I have a head start on organizing it.

View From My Front Porch

Are you ever curious about where bloggers take their pictures?  Perhaps it is just me, but when I see bloggers taking shots with a natural surrounding instead of a white backdrop, I'm always curious to see more.   Here is the view of where I have been taking most of my pictures for the past year.  It's my front porch.

Do you see that ledge on the left?  That's it.  :)

You can see Tuesday's card in this shot.  Depending on the angle I take the picture you usually see the tree, the fence or the grass in the background.

I love my little front porch.  I always wanted a big wrap around porch, but for now I am thankful for the one I have and the natural light it gives me for taking card photos.

Where do you take pictures of your cards?

Last week I promised you another video & card using the "leftovers" from making the chevron banner thank you card video.  Today I deliver on my promise.

It might be a little "over-the-top", but I think my son will like it.  Check out the video to learn more.
