Last week I promised you another video & card using the "leftovers" from making the chevron banner thank you card video.  Today I deliver on my promise.

It might be a little "over-the-top", but I think my son will like it.  Check out the video to learn more.

Lovely Notes from the Stamp of Approval Lovely Notes Collection

Yesterday the Lovely Notes collection from Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval went on sale to those on her wait list.  If there are any collections left they will go on sale today.  :)  Hurry up and clicky to get one before they are gone!!!

This would make a lovely set of cards to give as a gift, don't you think?  I was inspired by Melissa of Mel's Card Corner in her monochromatic card inspired by Lydia of Understand Blue cyanotype card series.  That is a lot of inspiration!  I do so dearly love monochromatic colors.

Each of these cards is just slightly different to keep it interesting for me to make.  I get bored pretty easily making the same things over and over again.  Obviously I changed the colors and embellishments with each card.  I also changed the size of my mask.

Yes, I used a mask of post it notes and post it not tape to sponge on each of the sqaures/rectangles before stamping my images in a slightly darker shade of the same color.

The Lovely Lattice background stamp was stamped out in the same color I used to sponge each card, but I dabbed off a little ink in several places before stamping it to give it a more distressed look.

I wanted this last card to have a bit of a masculine touch so I could give it to one of my boys.  I went old school on this one pulling out my crop-a-dile and large silver eyelet to top the tag.  :)

I hope you have enjoyed this series of cards using the Lovely Notes collection.  I still have a couple more cards to share with you next week.  Catherine should be announcing the winners of the blog hop boxes very soon.  Good Luck and I can't wait to see what all of you create with this truly lovely collection!!!

SOA Lovely Notes Butterfly Meadow

The challenge today over at StampNation is to create a card inspired by a Beautiful Meadow.  Obviously I chose flora, fauna and butterflies for my card.  Here is a sneak peek showing how I partially die cut the tag and the fussy cut around my butterfly for my design team card.  I used glossy accents over the butterfly to add a touch of dimension and shine.

I couldn't stop at just one card though.  I wanted to see how the butterfly would look of vellum, so I stamped him again and embossed with some cool glitter, then I turned him over and colored him with Zig clean color real brush markers.  In case you are wondering about those boxes of color on my tag, I got them by inking up 3 sizes of clear blocks with different shades of ink and then using the block as my stamp.  Then I used the same color ink for each box to stamp out some of the leaves and stems.  Each box is stamped in a slightly different way that is difficult to see in the pictures.

For my sentiment on this card I triple stamped the thank you.  Don't you just love the font on this stamp?!   For the bottom of my tag I stamped out the little leaves in Bermuda Bay ink on Bermuda Bay cardstock and then die cut them out using the Lovely Flowers and Banners Dies.  While I was at the big shot I also cut the scallop strip die and used all 3 elements as an "anchor" for the bottom of my tag.

The background also used Bermuda Bay ink & paper.  It was stamped with the Lovely Lattice background stamp.  This stamp is going to see a lot of use on my cards.  It's the perfect backdrop for both feminine and masculine cards.
