Sew Saturday ~ALYOF January

This week I've made some good progress on my Hugs & Kisses quilt.  Thanks to your comments last week I was able to find the fabric I needed and it was delivered to my doorstep this morning.  :)  Yesterday I went to my favorite fabric store, Ruby Street Quiltworks, and found even more fabric I needed for borders and sashing.  In my stash I found some lovely aqua fabric for a nice contrast. It's been a good fabric week!!!!

After I took this picture I trimmed all the blocks to the same size.   I'm considering adding another row of x's & o's to make it a generous sized lap quilt.    Right now it is closer to a crib size.

This will be my first finish for A Lovely Year of Finishes 2014.  My goal this year is to complete 8-12 finishes.  That would be an awesome year!  By the end of 2014 I won't be able to call myself a beginner anymore. I didn't discover ALYOF early enough in 2013 to complete 6, but in 2014 I hope to take part all year long!

Time for me to get sewing.  Tomorrow I will be sharing my goals for 2014 here on the blog including sewing, cardmaking, scrapbooking and maybe even some of my personal goals too.

That's a cute quilt! I love the aqua with it, good choice. You are quite adventurous in trying to finish 8-12 quilts! I wish you good luck!

What a beautiful quilt!

Thanks for stopping by my Seasons Givings Blog Post. I wanted to let you know that the space needle die is by Savvy Stamps and the PNW sentiment is from Impress:) If you haven't been to Impress, you have got to make a trip there!

Melissa, I am keeping this one so you will see it at our guild meeting when it gets finished.
Nonnie, I sure hope I meet my goal because it means that I will be sewing lots this year.
Amy, thank you so very much! I'll be planning a trip to Impress very soon!

It's looking good! I think it's a good idea to add another row - and then it will be a rectangle and borders will fill it out. A great one to finish just in time for February!

That's what I was thinking too, Susan.

Really like your Hugs and Kisses quilt! I like it 3x3 because it reminds me of naughts and crosses...
