Confetti Birthday

StampNation's Birthday Bash continues today with another fab-u-lous sponsor!  Reverse Confetti is a new stamp company for me.  I found them recently when I was following the Seasons of Giving blog hop and fell in love with them and the new release products they were showcasing.  I might have squealed a little bit when Catherine told the Design Team that they were one of our Birthday Bash sponsors.

As a design team member I cannot win the amazing prize that Reverse Confetti is giving away, but you can.   All you have to do is click HERE to go to Catherine's YouTube video and comment on that video.  Plus you'll get to see the super cute bags Catherine made.  I would love one of my followers to be the winner!!!

In honor of Reverse Confetti sponsoring StampNation today I am participating in their sketch challenge.   I can't win this either because I don't own any RC products yet.  Waaahhh!  That is something I plan on remedying very soon!  Even though I can't win, I can shop.   :)   Hopefully my package will arrive in time for me to participate in the next challenge!

The challenge on StampNation today for members is to create a card using a challenge from the month you first joined SN.  I joined in January 2012 just in time for StampNation's first birthday.  There were two challenges that month, create a Sympathy card and make a card using one or more current Trends.  Well, sympathy obviously wasn't very birthday-ish, so I went with trendy.  Somebody really should have stopped me because I couldn't stop adding on to the trends.

Polaroid style film boxes are super hot now so I pulled out my new On Film Framelits from Stampin' UP! and made a sequin filled Polaroid.  I really should make a video showing you how to do this.  If you are interested, let me know. Sequins are another hot trend so I had to include some of them on my card.

Baker's Twine isn't a new trend, but it is a trend that is still going strong.  I used some aqua twine from  Pretty Pink Posh to  "anchor" my banner (another hot trend).   The color of the PPP trim matches great with Stampin' UP!'s Coastal Cabana.   The red twine I got from PPP is a perfect match to Real Red, in case you were wondering.  If you look very closely you might even spot some stars on my card.  Stars are yet another trend popping up everywhere in cardmaking.

Last, but not least, is my favorite trend right now and that is the color combo Red/Aqua/Pink/White and sometimes Grey or any combo of those colors.  I used to think aqua red and pink didn't go together, but now I'm in love with this trio.  I'm even working on a quilt right now using those colors.

Play along with the Reverse Confetti challenge, make a comment on Catherine's YouTube channel, and join StampNation to see what the other ladies there have made for the Birthday Bash.  Whatever you do I hope you take some time today to get a little bit creative!

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

Thanks. I don't think I was "into" trends until I started StampNation. Now I see them everywhere and enjoy incorporating them into my cards.
