Pink & Red Inspiration

 

 

Today's card was inspired by two different photos.  What struck me about both of them were the pink flowers against the red background.  Normally I don't pair pink with red, but it is such a striking combination that I thought I would give it a whirl. 

One of the photos I drew inspiration from comes from a new (to me) challenge called {PIN}spirational Challenges.  It appears that they chose a pin from Pinterest and use that.  Here is this week's photo.  You still have time to join in the fun too!


The ribbon detail in my card is similar to the white lace in the picture, and my flowers have pearls too!  Actually I didn't notice the pearls in the picture until just now, but it looks like I added them because of the Pin, doesn't it. :) 



The second picture I drew inspiration from was for a world cardmaking day challenge.   Can you see how the 2 pictures are completely different and yet inspired me in the same way?  I took the cherry blossom and stamped it on vellum, and used satin ribbon.  Isn't it fun how two different pictures could inspire me in the same way?

Japanese Kimonos



I love this card.  It uses some retired product that I wish we still had. When I made it I didn't have anyone in mind to send it to, so I left the inside blank, for now.  I'm sure it will go to someone special.  In the meantime I think I will put it on display in my craft room to inspire me some more.
