January Thank You

Did you get your new Stampin' UP! catalog yet?   If you are a customer of mine, then you should have received yours in the mail.  If you didn't, please email me to let me know and I will ship one out to you.  (cr8tvblessings@hotmail.com) Today is the day the new Occasions catalog is released.  You can check out all the new products right now by clicking HERE and going to my Online Store.

You might be wondering what some of my favorite products are.   There are so many that I love it's hard to pick my favorite.   You will be seeing many of them over the next few weeks.   Today's card showcases 2 of my favorites, the Fresh Prints DSP stack and the Hip Notes Stamp Set.  Both are so fresh and trendy!

My thank you card is super easy to make and would be great for the guys to send too.  (Although I would leave off the heart if my boys were sending this card... unless they are sending it to Grandma)   I cut the paper into strips of various sizes, then cut the fish tail ends out of the bottom and layered them on my card.

This card is so cute, easy and fun to make that I am going to make one for each of you that places an order with me in the month of January as my way of saying thank you.  What are your favorites from the new catalog?

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

Heart Rainbow ~ PDCC168

Every time I look at this card my opinion of it seems to change.  Sometimes I really like it and other times I dislike it.  I'm not sure what to think.  Perhaps the problem is that I like the separate elements, but don't like how I put them together.   Or, maybe my heart on the right is too big, or the blank space on the left is too, well, blank.  ;)  Who knows?

One thing is sure, I had fun making it.  That is often the point of me spending time in my craft room... it's the creative process that thrills me.  I love the pinks and rose colors.  The hearts are right up my alley, and that banner is my favorite thing on the card.

My plan was to make a video showing you how I made the heart "rainbow", but the more I looked at the card, the less I was sure I even liked it.  I basically stamped, then stamped off each heart frame using the Hearts A Flutter stamp set.  Then I repeated it using the small heart from Tiny Tags in the same colors to stamp in the center of the heart frames.  The decorative edge comes from the Adorning Accents Edgelits Die.

Color inspiration came from the challenge over at the Play Date Cafe.

Aren't they wonderful colors blended together?  I love the inspiration photo too.  It uses the white and craft colors just like my card, but there is also a touch of green.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

Thoughts of You

Last week I saw several cards that used this Sale-A-Bration stamp set with Poppy Parade or Riding Hood Red Ink.  Unfortunately I don't have either of those colors.   (Guess what is going on my next order?  ...lots of Markers so I can have more colors to choose from.)

Rich Razzleberry is one color I do have, and I LOVE it, so I decided to try out this card with that ink.  What do you think?  Actually this card could be made from almost any color you want.  Just use the same color ink that you use for the paper, and ribbon if you can.  If not, use a neutral ribbon.

It's all in the details, from the pearls on the flowers, to the brad on the double ribbon bow, to the embossing of the scallop edge cut with the new edgelit die.

Heather North
