Beach Stampin' Celebration

June is here!  We've been working all year to get to graduation month.  That is what it is called in our house this year.  There is something going on every night this week leading up to Tyler's graduation on Sunday and Michael's the following Wednesday.  It's going to be a busy two weeks!

For the rest of the Stampin' UP! world June 1st means the new annual catalog is LIVE and you can order!!!!   New InColors, new ribbons, new stamps and so much more.   Clicky to go to my store and find your new favorite thing.

June 1st also means it is time for a new challenge at Stampin' Celebration.  This week we are taking you on vacation.  :)  Boy, could I use a few hours on the beach.  Use the inspiration photo below to make a tag, card, or scrapbook layout.

Then, be sure to enter it in the challenge at Stampin' Celebration for your chance to win bragging rights.  ;)   Here is what I created using this bright colorful inspiration photo.

It was so easy to make.   First, I stamped the sentiment onto pattern paper, then I die cut them out with the On Film Framelits using my Big Shot.  You can see right where your framelits will cut, making it easy to fit your sentiment inside.

To add just a touch of dimension I chose a few of the arrows and popped them up on dimensionals.  It's hard to see in the picture, but it made a huge difference in person.   Be sure to head over to Stampin' Celebration and see what the rest of the design team has come up with to inspire you.

OWH Blog Hop Video

This weekend I am joining Operation Write Home for a Memorial Day Weekend blog hop.  If you missed yesterday's post, and the start of the hop please clicky to check out all the deets.

Memorial Day is the day those of us in the USA honor our military men and women who have given their lives while serving in our nation's armed forces.  It is a special day of remembrance and gratitude.   In my own small way I am honoring the memory of those who have fallen by creating cards for our active duty military stationed overseas. Thank you OWH for giving me an outlet to give.

Yesterday I promised to show you I created these inlaid stars on my card.  Today I have that video for you.  Enjoy!

***Note*** If you are reading this post in an email or reader, you may need to go to my blog to view the video below.

Isn't that a fun way to add shapes to your cards?  If you are pressed for time you can always just add your stars on top of your card and skip the inlaid die cutting step like I have done with the card below.

Want to see more?  I have an exclusive video going up on StampNation today showing you how I added vellum to my "Miss You Already" card without any adhesive showing.

StampNation is a membership site dedicated to teaching, inspiring and sharing a love for cards.  At $9 a month it's better than a couple of trips to Starbucks.  :)

See you in the forums!

Memorial Weekend Blog Hop with OWH

Is there a more fitting thing for an American cardmaker to do on her blog for Memorial Day weekend than to join with Operation Write Home for a blog hop?  I didn't think so.   That's why I'm joining others again this year for the OWH Memorial Day Bloghop.

I used OWH Sketch #225 to create this thank you card.

See how the stars are inlaid and then a couple of them are popped up?  Come back tomorrow to see a video on how I made this card, plus another card using the same sketch, but rotated and flipped.

Add your email to the follow me by email box to the right and you will get an email when my new post goes up. :)

Be sure to head over to the OWH blog to see what the others have created for this special event.  Clicky to go there now.

January Thank You

Did you get your new Stampin' UP! catalog yet?   If you are a customer of mine, then you should have received yours in the mail.  If you didn't, please email me to let me know and I will ship one out to you.  (cr8tvblessings@hotmail.com) Today is the day the new Occasions catalog is released.  You can check out all the new products right now by clicking HERE and going to my Online Store.

You might be wondering what some of my favorite products are.   There are so many that I love it's hard to pick my favorite.   You will be seeing many of them over the next few weeks.   Today's card showcases 2 of my favorites, the Fresh Prints DSP stack and the Hip Notes Stamp Set.  Both are so fresh and trendy!

My thank you card is super easy to make and would be great for the guys to send too.  (Although I would leave off the heart if my boys were sending this card... unless they are sending it to Grandma)   I cut the paper into strips of various sizes, then cut the fish tail ends out of the bottom and layered them on my card.

This card is so cute, easy and fun to make that I am going to make one for each of you that places an order with me in the month of January as my way of saying thank you.  What are your favorites from the new catalog?

Creative Blessings,
Heather North
