Remember When... Creative Process

It's another Fun Friday, and I have a new video for you.   This video shows some of my "creative process" and how I make decisions as I design a card.   The card I make is very similar to the one I showed you earlier in the week on my blog.

Once you have the basics down you can recreate this with almost any background stamp and sentiment.  I'll be adding this video to Cardmaking 101 for future reference.

***Bonus Tip:  The color coach is a good tool any time you are trying to match up colors.  ;)

The second stamp set I used is Fresh Vintage from the current Sale-A-Bration catalog that ends NEXT WEEK!  Yikes, what will I do when I can't use this set anymore.  It has been my go-to set for the past few months.  Good thing there are lots of other fun stamps that are still current in my stamp room.  :)

Heather North

Time is almost up for my March Special Offer too!  The video will be filmed as soon as my order comes in with the window sheets.  I'll then ship out the kits to those of you who took me up on my special offer.  :)

Cardmaking 101- Crystal Effects

Welcome to another edition of Cardmaking 101- My online class for beginner card makers and those who may be new to Stampin' UP products.   Today I will be covering Crystal Effects, SU's clear glue.  I've only begun to tap into what this product can do, but so far I love it.  You can use it to add "raindrops" or "watermarks" to any project.  Once it is dry it leaves a glossy smooth texture.   It's difficult to see in pictures, but definitely cool in person.

Top card with Crystal Effects on the "chocolate" part of the strawberry, and bottom card without.

Cardmaking 101- Sponges and Colors

Welcome to another Cardmaking 101 virtual class.  Today we are learning about sponges in the first video and a quick second video about Stampin' UP!'s color family.
I use sponges all the time on my cards AND in my scrapbooking.  I like the way sponging the edge of my mat gives the finished product a softened effect.  At $3.50 for a 3 wheel pack they are super economical.  In my video I show you how to get 24 sponge wedges out of each pack!

Here's a sample of some sponging I did on the Whisper White 1 3/8" circle.

One of the things I have always loved about Stampin' UP! is the way their colors coordinate so beautifully.  It makes my "works of heart" look better.

Cardmaking 101 - Markers

Over a decade ago I purchased my first set of Stampin' UP! Markers.  Those markers still work!  Since that time Stampin Up has re-vamped their makers, adding new colors and making them even smoother to hold & write with.  I LOVE them.  I really do.

In today's video I will show you some tips on using this fabulous tool.

Bonus video... Using the blender pen AND your Stampin' Write Markers to ink up an image.  I should do a video just on blender pens.  This tool can be used to create a "watercolor" effect by picking up ink and coloring with it, or you can use it to REMOVE ink, as I have done in this video.

Cardmaking 101- Ink Pads

Welcome to the next video in my beginner series, Cardmaking 101.  Today I have a video showing you the different inks Stampin' UP! carries, and what each of them are used for.  I've also included 2 additional videos in this series showing you some samples using Versamark ink and Staz-On.

Using Versamark to create a watermark.  (I will make a future video showing how to heat emboss with both Versamark and Craft Ink)  Here's a video showing what the watermark looks like.

Card Making 101- Stamps

Welcome to Card Making 101, my virtual class on the basics of stamping, card making, and Stampin' UP!  I might even throw in some scrapbooking tips along the way.  ;)   Many of my friends do not make cards (yet) and want to learn how, just as I did.   I'm not claiming to be an expert, I just want to share with you some of the things I have learned over the years so you can become more confident in your skills as well.

To start this series I am going to go over the basics of Stamps.   This will include how to mount your stamps, differences between wood mount and clear mount, tips for more successful stamping, etc.

I will be adding to this series and keep all the videos on my Card Making 101 page.  If you have any questions or want to see a specific video on how to do something, please let me know.
