Masculine Monday ~ Thinking of You

My uncle is in San Fransisco again getting his third round of the trial drug to treat his cancer.   Today this card goes out in the mail for him, so it will hopefully be in his mailbox when he gets home.

One of the blessings of learning how to make cards has been my ability to send masculine "Get Well" and "Thinking of You" cards.  It's hard to find these in the store.  They are either feminine or meant for a husband.

My friend, Debbie, helped me design this card.  We were both on Facebook one night and I sent her a few pictures of different designs/colors and she gave me valuable input.  When in doubt, ask a creative friend for help!   Thanks, Debbie.   Hope you like the final outcome.

Originally I was planning to put the thinking of you under the twine, but you couldn't see much of the banners. Debbie suggested I lower the banners, which I thought was the best idea.  Only problem was that I had already stuck the banners onto the cardstock.  My solution was to lower the sentiment and remove the Summer Starfruit Windows Framelit layer.  Instead I cut around the stamped piece and layered it with a Midnight Muse cardstock cut out using the Windows Framelits.

The staples add a fun touch without making it feminine.  As I was taking a picture it dawned on me that I had planned to use the new Natural Trim Ribbon instead of linen thread.  Oh, well, Uncle Rod will like it just the way it is and I can always make another card with longer banners and Natural Trim.  ;)

Thank YOU to everyone who is lifting my Uncle Rod and Aunt Robin up in prayer.  God can perform miracles and He can use modern medicine to do it.  If you would like to pray for them please add a prayer of safe travels to and from SF and that the side affects won't be too harsh for Rod, along with prayer for healing.  Thank you so very much!
Creative Blessings,
Heather North
