Birthday Balloons

Yesterday I told you that the new photo collage challenge over at Stampin' Celebration really inspired me.  I was immediately drawn to the colors, so I had to use them in the card I made for the design team.  Clicky if you missed that post.

One of the advantages of being on a design team is that I have more time to work on my projects and sometimes go shopping just for a challenge.  When the new Stampin' UP! Occasions catalog came out I decided to get the washi tape sheets and try using them as balloons.  Check out the results.

While I still prefer the colors in the original photo, I think this is a fun card for any guy.  I love the way the you can see through the washi tape, just like you can a real balloon.  I hope you will join in this challenge.  It really does spark the imagination.

Stampin' UP Supplies (unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Because You Care *Hostess*
Ink: Calypso Coral, Black Pen (Micron)
Paper: Whisper White
Accessories: Birthday Bash Washi Sheets, Celebration Time (Simon Says Stamp), Chalk Talk Framelits

The creative team at Creativity Grows Here is getting ready to launch a new class all about dye inks.  I've created 4 videos and 5 cards for the class, but I am just one of the 8 Designers.  :)  I'll have more deets for you soon, but be on the lookout for this creative class.  If you want to be the first to know when the class goes live, be sure to hop on over to CatherinePooler.com  and sign up for her newsletter.

Very cool! I didn't think about the washi paper that way, but what a great idea! You are right, the transparency helps make the balloon effect real!
