First Christmas

I've got another card for the Dynamic Duos challenge.  I started making this one just after I made the first one, but ran out of time to finish it.  Thankfully, I think I have it done in time to enter their challenge.  (with a few minutes to spare)

Here is the challenge, in case you want to join in, or see what their next challenge will be.

I'm in love with this color combo for Starry Nights.  In fact, I would like to make another card with sponging to create a night sky.  Perhaps another day.  The only problem is that I haven't mastered taking pictures of these colors.  Trust me, this card looks so much better in person.

After I made the card front I decided to make it into a "stand-up" card, but I didn't have time to search the web for instructions, so I just "winged it".  The result?  It sits too low.  It still looks good, but I came up with a solution that is really pretty.

I took a large basic rhinestone and put it in the center of my card.  Now it can sit up a little straighter.  :)

When I first saw this stamp set in the SU catalog I wanted to try making it with silver embossing powder on Midnight Muse.   Next time I am going to try it with other SU blues to see which one I like best.  This card looks complicated, but it's not too difficult to put together.  I can see using this as my Christmas card this year.

One last look at the card when it is shut.  It lays fairly flat for mailing.  If you look close you will be able to tell that I need to re-ink my versamark pad.  It's running dry, and I have refill ordered, but I think it still looks ok thanks to the "cutouts" in the stamp itself.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North
