My Lucky Stars ~ Stampin' Celebration

New month, new challenge at Stampin' Celebration.  This month we have a wedding theme, with rich deep purples and gold.  Instead of a traditional wedding card I made a card that a bride & groom could give each other for their wedding or anniversary.

SC86

The background was created with distress inks, watercolor brush, gold embossing paste, and white embossing powder.  A little gold shimmer spray adds a nice sparkle to the entire card.

It doesn't show up in the photo, but I used white shimmer paper for my card base.  I wanted the entire thing to sparkle.   September=Sewing for me.  Every year in September I get the urge to start sewing again.  :)  So, I had to add some stitching to my card.  It's so easy to add this little touch to my cards.  If only my sewing machine was downstairs closer to my stamp room.  (first world problems, I know)

Now it is your turn!  Head on over to Stampin' Celebration to be inspired by the rest of the design team and then create a masterpiece of your own.  Don't forget to link back up to the challenge by September 12th and let me see what you come up with.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Lucky Stars (Wplus9), The Big The Bold & You (Winnie & Walter)
Distress Ink: Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, Victorian Velvet
Accessories: Metallic Gold Embossing Paste (Wendi Vecchi), Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz ( Tsukineko), White Embossing Powder (SU), Heart Border Punch (SU)

For the Newlyweds

Spring is coming and so are Spring Weddings, Easter and Mother's Day. This card could be used for any one of those things by changing the sentiment.

The tag has been spritzed, smooched, layered and popped up using thin strips of dimensionals.  If you look closely at the big heart you can see how thin I had to cut it to fit behind the heart frame.

There is so much going on with the collage card. I think I put just about every embellishment I could on that little tag. :)

As you can see in the close-up photo the sentiment says "For the Newlyweds", but you could easily change it to fit your needs.

Come back tomorrow to see another way I used this tag.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

Love Forever & Always

Yesterday was our Anniversary.  I was going to show you the card here when I got it done, but decided I should probably show my husband first, just in case he decided to check out my blog.  ;)  Here is a picture of the card beside the gorgeous flowers he brought me.

I'm married to a wonderful man that I adore, and I know that no card I make could come close to display the love I feel for him, but I also know that by making it myself I put a little bit of my heart into it.

I knew I wanted to use glittery paper and the You Are Loved stamp set.  I also wanted Red.  What I didn't know was how to put it together.  Thankfully, Mojo Monday came to the rescue.

It's perfect!  I added a few more hearts to mine, and I shortened the skinny piece into a banner, but I think my card still captures the essence of this sketch.  You could easily make this card for a wedding or bridal shower too.

From this angle you can see how I popped up the banner using 2 dimensionals on one side and a glue dot on the other.  This helps the banner to look like it's "blowing".  The Love is also popped up on the glittery decorative label, but it's hard to see that in this photo.

The inside is decorated as well using some scraps from the front of the card.  Don't you love when it works out that way?

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

Congratulations ~ TSOT

Ready for another Try Stamping On Tuesday?  I know I just did one yesterday, but there was a new one up today and it was PERFECT for helping me make this wedding card.

Here is the sketch from TSOT

There are a LOT of dimensionals on this card.  The heart alone has 3 layers to get it up over that (retired) ruffled ribbon.

I may end up needing a padded envelope to ship this.  :)

I hope the bride and groom will feel the love when they open this card.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North
