Washi Tape Tree

It's crunch time in the craft room as the deadline to send out Christmas cards and gifts approaches.  Today's card is very quick to make and mass produce.

Isn't it cute!  I filmed a video showing you how easy it is to make this card.

Note: you may need to go to my blog to view the video.  Click on the post title "Washi Tape Tree" above to go there now.  :)

You could punch out gold or silver stars to make this even easier.  I stamped my star, then covered it with dazzling details.  Stars must sparkle, even if they are pink, right?

The die cut panel is made of textured cardstock.  I like the look it added, but it meant I couldn't get a crisp stamped image.  In this instance I was ok with that.  :)   The twine is a yummy pink, raspberry red, and white candy stripe.

If you don't want to take the time to wrap baker's twine and tie a bow you could use the coordinating red washi tape from the Seasons of Style pack, or a strip of paper, or leave it without anything except the sentiment.  The possibilities are endless when it comes to papercrafting.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

P.S. Sorry about the late posts, poor picture quality and videos issues.  It has been a struggle with technology, but I see light at the end of the tunnel.  (Today I made the trip to Olympia to pick up our new modem.)  Thank you for being patient with me as I learn my new computer, update our home internet and figure out how to transfer photoshop to my new computer.  By the beginning of next year I should have everything up and running faster than ever.   That means no waiting all day for photos to upload and edit and download.  (in theory at least)

Wreath Door Card

Will you be going to any Christmas gatherings this year?  Today's card would be a perfect one to take with you for the host/hostess or to send out after the party thanking them for their hospitality.

The door opens to reveal you greeting or message.

In the video below I will show you how to make this wreath and card along with the tips and tricks I learned by trial and error.

Here is a close-up of the wreath.  It's easy to do, but it does take a little bit of time.  I enjoyed the process though.

If you are all done with your Christmas cards this year and want to get a head start on next year while you are still in the Holiday mood, this might be a fun project to work on while watching Christmas movies.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

Welcome Wreath

I have another wreath card for you.  Honestly this is the card I have been trying to make since the day my mom sent us our wreath.  I kept trying to make the card square, but it really needed to be a rectangle double door.  :)  Once I figured it out it was super easy and QUICK to put together.

I'm thinking about making a video to share some tips I discovered as I made this card.  Let me know if you are interested and I will do that for you guys.

The inside is blank for now, but I will probably be using one of the greeting stamps from the Holiday Mini catalog.  One thing that greatly helped with this card was following the sketch at Unscripted Sketches.  It's a new to me blog that I need to remember to check out more often!

I want to try this sketch again and have it looked like a wrapped present.  So many sketches and ideas, so little time.  :)
Here is a close-up of the wreath so you can see the detail.  The wreath is what I made 2+ weeks ago and each time I go to the craft room I have tried to pair it up with other papers, colors and/or sketches.  I wanted it to look like it was on a door.  Finally I just made a door.  LOL.  It works.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

P.S.  Check out yesterday's post to see another wreath card with a similar layout to this one, only square.

Proud to be an American

Last weekend, for World Card Making Day, I made cards inspired by pictures from around the world.  I started in the good ole' USofA.  :)  I've been wanting to make this card since I first saw the Merry Minis stamp set in the holiday mini catalog.  The stars are so pretty and they aren't just for Christmas.

I stamped the stars in Versamark onto Midnight Muse cardstock, then add white embossing powder before heat embossing.  Next time I think I will try some iridescent ice EP.  What do you think?

Don't you just love the sparkle of the red glimmer paper?  To get the sentiment, I just used a Midnight Muse marker and inked up the God Bless, then I punched it out using the modern label punch.

God Bless you, wherever you may be from and God Bless the USA!
Creative Blessings,
Heather North
