Wonder Women ~ Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop

Welcome to the Calling All Sistahs blog hop!  This is an exciting day for me!  It's my first time being in charge of a blog hop and the hop is for such a great cause.  What is Calling All Sistahs?  I'm glad you asked!  Calling All Sistahs is a campaign started by Michele Gross of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps after her discovery of breast cancer.   The idea behind it is to remind our sistahs to do their monthly self exams and yearly mammograms.  Michele designed the Calling All Sistahs line during her cancer treatment and is now donating 50% of her profits from that line to National Breast Cancer Foundation.  It is such a worthwhile cause, and I happily did my part, buying the entire line before I became the Blog Hop Coordinator.

You may be wondering if this concept works.  I'm here to tell you IT DOES! This month I had my first mammogram, and I had the courage to do it because I've been following along the hops and reading YOUR stories.  Every month I was reminded to do my self checks as I reminded my blog readers to do theirs.  My blog readers have shared their stories with me and I knew I wasn't alone.  Cancer is not contagious, but it can be caught early!  So, I donned my "Wonder Woman" cape and had my girl's pictures taken.

Can I tell you a secret?  It was uncomfortable, yes, but not nearly as painful as I thought it would be.  My paps-mere a few days before this was much more uncomfortable.   If you have been too scared to get your first mammogram, as I was, I'm here to tell you that you can do this, my sistahs!  I'm right here cheering you on.  Let's detect these things early, so we can face them head on with the most possible options and best outcomes!

One thing I keep in mind any time I am fearful is the saying included in the Hope Ribbon stamp set: "hope is stronger than fear"  Hope comes from the Lord.  He has not given us a spirit of fear, so I cling to the hope that all my sistahs would be free of cancer.  Below is my video for this card.

If you would like to be a part of next month's blog hop, be sure to join us over on the Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop Facebook group to hear about sign-up deets next month.  **hint** The hop will be on the 17th of the month.  You are welcome to share all of your creations using the Calling All Sistahs line in the albums set up on Facebook.  We love to ooh and ahh and be inspired by your work.  :)

If you aren't on Facebook, no worries.  Just email me between the 1st and 10th of the month with your name and blog at sistahoodhop@outlook . com to be added to next month's hop.

I am the last stop on this fabulous, but don't worry if I am your first, just continue on with the first hop on the list, the CAS-ual Fridays Blog.  After you do your self check.  ;)   Oh, and don't forget to leave a comment on each stop of the hop!  Michele is giving away (3) $15 gift certificates to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps shop.  Woot-Woot!
