Make Some Noise

It's Friday!!!!  Do we really need more reason than that to celebrate? How about a birthday card that could be sent to a guy or a gal?

The thing I love most about this card is the little blue heart I die cut using leftovers from sentiment tag.  I made a similar card for a candy challenge last month over at StampNation.  Here is a sneak peek of that card.

To make the watercolor background for these sentiments I scribbled a few colors with my Zig markers and then spritzed with water.  After it is dry I stamp my sentiment.  Super easy, right?  Love those Zig markers!!!

For my card I had to use 2 of my favorite CAS*ual Fridays Stamps sets, Loving Thoughts and Love Notes.  I didn't have a sentiment in CFS stash that said "Happy Birthday to You"(from the birthday song we all love to sing at parties) so I made my own using 3 different stamp sets in my stash. That is one of the great things about the CFS line. Her stamps and sentiments go together so well, even when combined with different set in the CAS*ual Fridays line.

You can see the full card on StampNation in the challenge forum. I wanted to show you more from this fabulous sponsor so I made a card just for today using my personal favorite stamp set and die from CAS*UAL Fridays Stamps, Love Notes and Heart Note Die.  

To bring a little bit of the adorable note stamp into the card I clear embossed the space behind the heart. It's subtle, but really tied in the sentiment to the backdrop.  Little sequins from #prettypinkposh above and below my heart note die add just the finishing touch my card needed.

Happy Dancing For You

It's all about the embellishments on today's card.  The chevrons, hexagons, chalkboard paper and arrow clip all combine to make a fun trendy card.  Using the envelope punch board to create a file folder look for the background was the "icing on the cake".

Do you like to embellish your cards?  How much is too much for you?  Are you more of a minimalist or do you feel you can never have too many do-dads and sparklies on your creations?  For me it all depends on my mood and who/where the card is going to.

Musical Cardz 4 Guyz

I just had to jump at the current challenge on Cardz 4 Guyz.  It's a musical challenge and just perfect for my guitar playing brother's birthday coming up in March.

The first card I tried to made used the Love Notes stamp set from CASual Fridays, but it was just too busy a background.  I pulled out the newest color challenge at ColourQ and my problem was solved by just layering my center panel on a crisp blue background.
