Thanks, Friend

My boys went to play with friends today, and I was able to spend an hour in the hobby room.  Here is what I came up with.  :)  I was even able to clean up the mess I made.  Always a plus.  My mojo is definitely coming back.

If you are wondering about the colors, I got them from the color challenge at CR84FN.  I like the combo a lot.  Though I had to use a non-SU purple.  It is an old piece of  CM cardstock.

The sketch is from this week's Retro Sketches.

I took some liberty with the size.  It is a 4 1/4 square card.  I also left off the swirly bit.  I was going to add it but couldn't decide which color to use.

Instead I added a little detail in the top corner. :) Isn't that teeny tiny brad cute?  I was going to add a rhinestone, but I was curious to see just how small my new brads are.

It feels good to be crafting again.  I have a stack of challenges printed out and a list of cards I need to make.  All I need are time, energy and an air conditioner in the garage.  :)

Sending Love ~ Mojo 243

With so many products retiring this week,  I thought I would pull out some paper I have leftover from Sale-A-Bration (SAB) and try my hand at the new Mojo Monday Sketch.

To get that doily I used my new(to me) Big Shot and the Paper Doily Sizzlits die. It cut so much better with the Big Shot than it had with my Cuttlebug. I may be looking for a new owner for my Cuttlebug soon. ;) Next I cut off the outer layer of the doily to get it down to a smaller size. Then I layered it with Very Vanilla cardstock, cut into a circle, then Lucky Limeade cardstock in a circle that was just a tad larger.

To get the (Easy Events) stamped image I used my markers and inked up the tree trunk and sentiment using Chocolate Chip maker, the leaves and grass were done with Lucky Limeade, and the heart was colored with poppy parade.  After I stamped the image onto Very Vanilla cardstock I used my blender pen and the same colors to color it in.

On a sad note, my camera has officially died.  :*(   I took these shots with my cell phone and loaded them on the computer and attempted to fix the color/lighting.

Heather North

Hidden Journaling

Usually I post my scrapbook pages on Sunday, but I'm making an exception today because I have been asked to be a guest blogger for Inspired to Scrap!   If you are joining me from Inspired to Scrap I want to give you a big welcome and thank you for joining me.   If you want to see my post over there, please click here.

On today's blog post at Inspired to Scrap I am giving you some ideas on how to hide your journaling.  Yes, you read that correctly, HIDE.  Let's face it, we all have times we need or want to hide what we are writing.  Here's a video with some ideas....

Here is my completed page.  I changed the journaling box I put in the envelope from the one that was in the video.  :)
