Two Tags Birthday

Today is my son's birthday, but this is not HIS birthday card.  I'll show his another day.  His is similar to this one though, so I thought I would share it with you.

This card was for Catherine Pooler's birthday.  The challenge at StampNation was to create a birthday card for Catherine by CASEing one of her cards.  I chose on my favorites of hers to recreate into a fun, girly card.

The Two Tags die is the star of this card.  It's easier to show you the card on video than it is in pictures, so I filmed a short video for you.

*Note- You may need to visit my blog to see the video, if you are not already there.

Isn't it darling?  I might film a video for you showing you how to make this with 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock, since Catherine's gives you measurements for a 12x12 sheet.

At first I thought the More Amore Specialty DSP was my favorite paper from the Spring catalog, but I'm beginning to think it is the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP I used on this card.  The bright colors make me happy.  :)

Heather North

The Wreath Tradition

Three or four years ago my mom began a tradition I just love!  She started it after we visited her house at Christmastime and I commented on how pretty the wreath hanging on her door was and how fresh it smelled.  She gets them every year, but a few years ago she started sending one to me too!  Now every time I walk through my front door from late November to early January I think of my mom and how the wreath is hanging from her door too.  She says she does the same thing.  It's a special way for us to stay connected even though we live 600+ miles apart.

Here is the card I made to thank mom and dad for sending us our Christmas wreath this year.  I wanted to use a wreath on the card, and discovered I have a stamp with a wreath on it.  Who knew?  I've only used one other stamp in this darling set.  Something I really need to remedy.

This card would be easy to mass produce.  It's a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4" square card, but you could make it a standard size card and leave the bottom blank, add a sentiment or add a ribbon and bow.

While taking these pictures I decided to add some Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler to "bling" it up just a bit.  Here is a picture of it with the glitter glue still wet.  I think it adds a nice touch.

The inside of the card is decorated as well.

Best of all this card was easy because I used this week's sketch from Retro Sketches.   You still have plenty of time to play along if you like their sketch too.

Sweet Thanks

As I was getting my swaps ready to send out I realized that I needed to write a thank you note to our swap hostess.  It's a lot of work to be the hostess of an online swap.  Even though the card is small (3x3" finished size), I hope it still blesses the one I am sending it to.

I had fun coloring in the mushrooms from the new Hostess Set "Happy You".
Colors used were Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi and Certainly Celery.  I punched it out with a circle punch and then punch out a Pink Pirouette Circle just a bit larger.  Next I popped it onto dimensionals.

The flower was punched out using the Blossom Punch and Twitterpated DSP.  To give it more dimension I curled the edges a bit and then it too was popped onto dimensionals. To finish the card off, I tied a piece of Baja Breeze Seam Binding around the front.

You could create this card using any one of the other stamps in this versatile set!  I love stamp sets that cover a multitude of occasions.

Creative Blessings,
Heather North

P.S.  My 16 swap cards went postal today.  I'll post pictures as soon as people begin receiving their swaps and I plan to make a video to post here too.  :)
