Prize Stag for Father's Day Card

In case you hadn't heard, Father's Day is this Saturday!  (at least for those of us in the US)  We got my husband an EPIC gift this year.  He's been saying he wants one for years, and we finally found it.  I hope he likes it as much as I think he will.  What are you getting for the dad's in your life?  We like to send our Fathers a card for their special day.  Here's another card I made, but I can't share who it is for... he may be watching.  ;)

The burlap ribbon wasn't going well with this card so I decided to distress it.  It was easy to do, Just laid it on my ink pad and pressed down.  I also distressed the banner a little bit.  I guess dad cards should have a little "dirt" on them.  Both of us have hard working dads.  My boys do too.  I'm grateful for these men in our lives.

Stamps: Sweet Sentiments (The Craft's Meow)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up)
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla (SU) Cartographer 6x6 pad (Prima)
Accessories: Blueprints 24 (My Favorite Things) Burlap Ribbon (SU) Prize Stag (Ellen Hutson)

The stamp set I used has retired, so I thought I would include some great sets I found on Ellen Hutson for you below.  I seriously need to go shopping for some new masculine messages sets.

Masculine Father's Day Card

Father's Day is just around the corner and I have a quick card for you, just in time to get it mailed out.  :)

The trick to this card was the Interlocking die from Penny Black and a nuetral pattern paper pack.  I cut out the front panel of my black cardstock with that die, then layered a piece of lightly patterned paper behind it.  To finish it off I stamped a father's day sentiment on a banner die cut from the same paper pack and used a bit of foam adhesive to make sure the center stayed popped up while going through the mail.  Quick and easy!

I have more cards (and a video) coming soon showing you a few more ideas using the interlocking die. ***edited to add Masculine Cards for Dad post *** It's a great one to have in your stash!

I'm linking this card up with this week's CASology cue card.

Happy Father's Day ~ Inspired by In The Mood

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!  A big shout out to the amazing father of my children.  He is all that I could ever ask for in both a husband and Dad for my kids.  Another shout out to my dad and both my Father in Laws.  Yep, I got 2 of them.  :)  I'm triply blessed in the dad department.  Here is one of the 4 Father's Day cards I made.  This one inspired by the card I made for "Color Washed" for the In The Mood class at Creativity Grows Here.

In the class I showed how to create this fabulous background with stencils, ink, stamps and embossing paste.  The original card has a beautiful buttterfly and scripty die cut sentiment.  To tone it down for Father's Day I just added a black band with a white embossed sentiment.

Glittery Hearts

In need of some quick valentines or gift cards?   Here's and easy couple of cards with matching envelopes.

In the video below I show you how you can make your own glittery heart stickers.

***Note- If you are reading this post in an email or blog reader you may need to visit my blog to view the video.  Click on the post title "Glittery Hearts" to go there now.

To make the card even simpler you can stamp and stick on just the 3x6" card base and skip the layers.  To step it up you score or emboss the top layer.

The envelopes are even easier to make than the cards with the help of the envelope punch board.

I'm linking up to two challenges that inspired me.
