Best Friend

Wouldn't your bestie love to get this card in the mail?  It was created in the same way as the card I made last month.  Clicky if you missed it.  First I stamped my paisley feathers in rainbow order, then I stamped the inside feather in a lighter shade.

After I had the focal point stamped out, I die cut it using two different cirles dies.  Then I popped it up with my card base that I stamped down the center with black stripes.  I love the contrast of rainbow, white and black, don't you?

Paisley Thanks

The Paisley Peacock stamp set is very versatile.  Here I have used a couple of the feather layering stamps and made a rainbow pinwheel.  Fun Fun!

As you can see I had a blast playing with all my different ink colors.  If you don't have this many inks to choose from, no worries.  Simply "stamp off" to get a lighter shade for your inner colors.

Stamps: Paisley Peacock (CPD) Handpainted Thanks (Neat & Tangled)
Paper: Premium White (CPD)
Accessories: Cross Stitched Squares (My Favorite Things)

Purple Explosion

It's no secret I love the color purple.  It's hard to find a good purple ink color though.  That's why I might have squealed out loud when Catherine showed me her new ink line and the perfect shade of purple was in it.   I've told her I want this same color in darker and lighter shades too.  ;)

In the meantime, I experimented with a little rock-n-roll technique using the tail feathers from the Paisley Peacock stamp set in the new Stamp of Approval, The Perfect Reason collection.  Combining the Aquatini color with the Flirty Fuchsia gave me a dark rich purple that I LOVE!

For the strips of cardstock I simply used the direct-to-paper technique to color some white cardstock with Flirty Fuchsia, then I covered it with Vesrsamark and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Heat setting it turned the glitter shiny and made the color appear darker as well.  It's so much fun playing in my stamp room lately.

I was trying to go for a shadow look on my sentiment by stamping it twice, but I don't think I really achieved the look I was going for.  Oh well, it's still a lovely thank you card to add to my stash.

It's Always the Perfect Reason

There is so much in life to be thankful for.  Perhaps that is why I send more thank you notes than any other type of card.

This card was made while at the Topsail Island beach in North Carolina.  I wanted to thank my hostess for a lovely weekend.   My card uses the Paisley Peacock from the newly released The Perfect Reason Stamp of Approval collection.  I made a halo of feathers around the body of the peacock by tracing a cup lightly in pencil as a guide.

Stamps: Paisley Peacock, Still Smiling (Catherine Pooler Designs)
Ink: Aquatini, Lime Rickey, Party Dress, Fiesta Blue, Flirty Fuchsia, (Catherine Pooler Designs) Black (Staz-On)
Paper: Bright White (CPD) Vellum (Stampin' Up)

There are still a few boxes left, but they are going quickly.  Clicky to order yours now.
