Most of the quilt was quilted on a diagonal line, but I did outline the flying geese and center panel.
A cool thing happened when I turned over the quilt to look at the back. My geese were quilted right in the middle of one of the seems. I couldn't have planned that and made it happen!
One thing I learned while quilting this is that black fabric really clings to cotton batting. It's an easy fix, but not worth doing until I have the top trimmed at least. I still can't believe I finished my Feb. goal with time to spare. There hasn't been a lot of time for the sewing room this month, but I've made the most of my limited time. Now I have 5 days to complete my other sewing goals for the month. I have 2 left unfinished.

Heather, this quilt is amazing! Great job! You should be very proud!
Beautiful finish. Who can resist a black, white and grey quilt?
That is a great quilt. How cool that the quilting came out on a seam line on the back. Congrats on your finish!
Congratulations on an awesome finish! I cannot wait to see it in person at the guild meeting!!!
You did it! Isn't it great finishing UFOs? Wrestling big quilts in a regular sewing machine is a work out, for sure. However, you did a lovely job quilting it, and now you have just a memory of the wrestling match! That is a great quilt, with movement and interest, and design charm. Well done!
I LOVE this quilt! It has both a traditional and a modern feel to it. I'm so glad you finished it. Yay, Lovely Finishes! That is amazing that the geese were so perfectly centered on that seam!
This is truly a beautiful finish! I really like the quilt because it is simple, yet elegant.
I too would not have accomplished so much without "A Lovely Year of Finishes".
Wow! Beautiful~ How many quilts have you done? Amazing Heather~ You're so smart. I wish I'd learned to quilt years ago~ :)
