Celebrate World Card Making Day with the StampNation Design Team
We are taking a trip around the world at StampNation and to kick things off we are having a World Card Making Day Design Team Blog Hop. Come along for the journey and get a taste of some of the countries represented as we stamp around the world.
Each DT member picked their favorite photo inspiration and card to post on their blog.
Here's mine...
And here is the card I was inspired to make.
Would you believe that I used a blender pen to color this card? I love Copics, but only have a few. It's great that I can get a similar look using a blender pen and my markers.
The fun continues...see we are asking you to guess the country the photo comes from, then to leave a comment telling what country you think I've chosen.
One lucky commenter from each blog will win a 3 month subscription to StampNation.
PLUS, I will be choosing a winner from my blog to receive a card kit for some of my WCMD cards. There will be videos for these cards kits too. Click HERE to go to the blog post with more details.
Then, one Grand Prize Winner will win a 3 month subscription as well as all of the cards Catherine made for the event!
Remember to hop along to each DT member leaving comments along the way to increase your chance of winning!!!
Catherine Pooler
Maureen Merritt
Kristie Goulet
Heather North (that's me!)
Shea Marshall
Monica Weaver (Guest Designer)
Have fun!
*Please Note: To be eligible to win the Grand Prize, you must comment on all Design Team blogs. You do not have to answer the question correctly to be eligible to win. Comments will close on Thursday, October 10th at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. Design Team will announce winners on StampNation and their personal blogs on Friday, October 11th.

I would guess the country is France or western Europe. Your poppies on the card are beautiful.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy - its Australia - for ANZAC day. Which as a New Zealander will claim as totally mine (like the Aussies try to claim the Pav and Crowded House)
Love your card Heather :)
BEAUTIFUL job on interpreting the inspiration photo, Heather! And your coloring is top notch! Happy WCMD!
I love the way you interpreted the picture. Your card is lovely!
Love the poppies and the card.
You guys certainly did not make this process of picking countries an easy one. Poppies could be associated with ANY country: they're abundant all around the Mediterannean basin. But that (?) on the hat(?) looks like it has Mayan or Inca origins.
Costa Rica. I am not very good with geography. Love the simplicity of the card
Gorgeous coloring -- love the embossing as well! The hat in the photo gives it away -- it's Australia! And what I wouldn't give to have a vacation there! :)
I'm going with Austrailia. Using a blender pen is such a GREAT idea when you don't have a lot of copic markers! You did a beautiful job with the colors!!!
Absolutely love these poppies. I lived in Turkey for 2 years and the hills would be covered.
Lovely photo and card. I am guessing Mexico.
Your card is stunning! Love poppies! Your country is Australia. Always wanted to visit!
Great card, so clean , I like it
Australia
Heather....your card is beautiful! Don't you just love WCMD??? I do!
Such a pretty card!! The hat is Australian, the poppies are often associated with war graves in Flanders, Belgium, and the poem "In Flanders Fields" was written by a Canadian. You've packed a lot of countries into one meaningful photo!! --Doris
Your flowers are gorgeous! They were for Australia
Australia! Very creative with the photos- keeping us on our toes! This card is beautiful- love the colours.
Gorgeous interpretation! Great colors! Australia.
Australia? Love the poppies!
Australia
Really lovely card that mirrors the photo of the ANZAC hat in a field of Poppies.
Country has to be Australia.
cheers
Trina
Beautiful card, love the stamp too. Copics are the best!
I will say it is Australia but I'm really not sure. Great card
What a sweet card. Great job!!
What a sweet card! I love this! Country has to be Australia!
Hi Heather,
Love the Flowers and its colors! The background really adds to the touch! Good Job!
I would say either Australia or the sign in the middle says Costa Rico!!!!!!
I'll go with Australia - pretty poppy card!
Heather, I love your Poppies!
I'm an Aussie and I know this photo is for Australia.
My guess would be Mexico or Spain. I love the card it goes so well with the photo
I came over from the OWH blog hop. My guess is Australia.
I am a follower.

Im going to say china. I believe that may be the native home of poppies. Definately in Asia.
This was my favourite photo. If I'd done this first I'd have guessed France.
The country is Australia. Thanks for the card inspiration - off to read more.
The country is Australia. I am impressed you got such vibrant colours using blender pens - wow!
Land down under - Australia!! (can you tell I'm a local;) Love your card and the cute banner :)
Beautiful card and Australia is your country!
Australia! Even though I didn't have a poppy card, I came up with a gorgeous one. Thanks for the inspiration!
Pam
Australia....love the card!
Australia! Beautiful card Heather. Love the color of the flowers.
I would never guess Australia, but lots of your commenters seems quite sure. I'll be curious to find out where it's from. Your card is beatuiful; that's one of my favorite stamps!
My guess New Zealand
Yes Australia... great connection to the card!
Your colors are soft and beautiful. Lovely card!
Beautiful card. I love the colors you chose. I am thinking this picture is from Australia.
Love those poppies- this id definitely Australia for ANZAC Day. We celebrate it in New Zealand too.
Australia Love your poppy card. My favorite flower happens to be the Red Poppy.
Australia for country and card. Those Poppies are so beautifully done--on your card, I mean!
Well - by looking what others have said - seems Australia is the favorite.
You watercoloring was done very nicely.
I think it is Australia, but was also thinking Canada. Thanks for the opportunity to win
Pretty card. I would guess Sweden.
Beautiful Poppies. Australia
Love Poppies, colors are so nice......
The poppies threw me off a bit but I will go with the hat. Australia, I hope.
Lynn
I am going with my gut instinct and saying NEw Zealand. THanks for the tidbit about copic markers. I myself don't have any because they are too $pendy :(
THanks!

I vote for Australia.
This photo provided such a variety of interpretations. great card.
Stunning card. You do gorgeous work!!
Love the poppies. Each time I saw ANZAC I thought ZANAX. Hmmmm. Australia
Love your card.....the counrty is Dnmark
Australia.
Love the use of the copic markers. I really want to start playing with that next.
Beautiful job
Beautiful card, Heather, and equally beautiful photo. Because of the ANZAC hat in the photo, I'm guessing it's Australia.
In Flanders Fields, come to my mind with these amazing Poppies...but, I will say, Aussie...lol...the card matches wonderfully...thanks so much for BLESSING us!
In Flanders Fields, come to my mind with these amazing Poppies...but, I will say, Aussie...lol...the card matches wonderfully...thanks so much for BLESSING us!
Sorry, it went twice...smiles...just goes to prove how much I liked it I guess....😀
I just did a card from this picture and really love it. The country - Australia.
One of my favorite stamp sets...great colors
Beautiful poppies - both the card & the photo. My first guess was France, but the hat is definitely not French.
im guessing Australia and luv your interpretation of the poppies stunning card xx
Australia...love the poppies and the coloring on the card!
Beautiful card, I love poppies. The country is possibly Australia where we use the red poppies as a remembrance on Anzac day, but the reason we do that is because of the poppies that grew on the battlefields of Flanders Fields in France and Belguim?
Your card is stunning in its simplicity. Australia is the country.
Absolutely gorgeous card. I am going to say Australia because poppies are a symbol of the Anzacs, but the reason for our use of the Poppies is because of Flanders Field in France where many battles were fought?
I think the country is the Netherlands or Belgium.
I love the polka dot background and the flowers spilling over the border, a very elegant card. I think the photo is from Holland.
Poppies make me think of Veteran's not necessarily any particular county so I'm not even going to try to guess...but the card is lovely and amazing that you could get so much depth and shading only using markers and a blending pen! Lovely!

Australia. Those poppies really pop.I love poppies.
Hugs Wynn xx
This is defniitely Australia. Your poppy is gorgeous. Love, love, love this.
Gorgeous card! I love your coloring. I have no idea on the country...the US? :)
The poppies could be from so many places, but the hat looks like New Zealand. Love the card also!
I love your card - the colouring is faultless! The poppies represent ANZAC Day which is celebrated in Australia and New Zealand. New Zealand has already been represented so I'm guessing it's Australia. However, the battle of Gallipoli was in Turkey so it could also be Turkey?
THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT AN AUSSIE CAP, BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS FLANDERS BELGIUM-LOVELY CARD WE ARE DOING OURS THIS MONTH FOR THE 11TH NOV.
