Beautiful Composition

Today marks the first day of a new Bible study I am doing both with my local ladies group AND with some of Scrapshare friend on Facebook. To get ready for the study I found this darling composition book and decided to alter it a bit to make it even more personal. Having something pretty to write in makes me look forward to my study time even more.

After printing out some things from the website and deciding where to add them to my book, I embellished with ribbon, vellum, stickers, etc. That swirl in the top corner is cute on a velvety material using my new Cricut Cartridge from Creative Memories called Reminisce. It's my first time using that cartridge even though I've had it for almost a month!

The inside cover (LHS) has a guide to what we will be reading each day. First I used SU bliss stamp and some pearly white ink on the black cardstock to make the background paper for my matted printout. On the first page (RHS) is a description of the SOAP method.

I also added this scripture and some stickers to the back to cover up bar codes, etc.

Pop It Up

My layout from the Inspired to Scrap challenge needed a bit more dimension, so I decided to pop up some of the elements and add a couple more snowflake brads.  Still only added about 7 minutes to the 18 total I had already spent making and posting the layout on I2S

Next I used some of the same paper on the RHS of my page to make the 2 page spread flow.  The North, South, East and West photos are all mounted with the same patterned paper I used the LHS.

Here is the completed 2 page spread.  Funny how great the challenge coordinated so well with what I already had planned for the RHS.

Inspired Challenge

Tonight on the  Inspired to Scrapforum they had a one hour challenge.  It was a rare night with my husband gone on a business trip to CA so I thought I would have the night free.  Turns out my son's school had Howdy Family Night on the same night.   By the time we came home I had less than 20 minutes to create this page and post it to the blog.  Even though I was short on time I really liked the way it turned out.
